2010 will be 'good year' for buy-to-let properties

This year will be a good one for buy-to-let property owners, it has
been suggested.
According to Jon Brown, partner relationship manager at
iammoving.com, those who have invested in such property - including
houses to rent in Somerset - should be
optimistic.
He remarked: "Our opinion is that 2010 will be the year of the
landlord and the letting agent. This is reflected in our own current
statistics."
Mr Brown added that letting agents using its utilitell.com change of
tenancy tool are processing an average of 35 per cent more moves
now than at the same time last year.
His comments were made in the wake of the release of figures from
the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, which showed that
house prices in the UK have risen by ten per cent since a low seen
in April last year.
The organisation also revealed that Britain was one of only a small
number of countries in Europe that witnessed a rise in the value of
residences in 2009.
