'The future's bright' for landlords

The future for long-term landlords looks "very good", according to
one property expert.
Mark Garner, managing director at LettingZone, which aims to
feature news and articles directly affecting landlords as well as
offering products and services, said that many landlords on tracker
mortgages will be "reaping the full benefit" of low interest rates
and will be seeing a "very healthy" cash flow.
His comments follow the publication of figures from LSL Property
Services, which revealed that average rental prices increased in
July, while the number of days that a property stands empty each
year has fallen.
"I wouldn't say my rents are leaping up, but they have certainly
stabilised now and it is looking a lot more certain and a lot more
healthy for the long-term future," said Mr Garner.
The news comes after the FindaProperty.com Rental Index 2009 showed
that asking monthly rents for houses have risen by 2.5 per cent
this quarter to £868 in August 2009.
